Sull’aumento del numero dei centenari in Italia

Col metodo delle generazioni estinte è stato ricostruito il numero dei centenari in Italia nelle generazioni dei nati dal 1850 al 1905 al fine di: a) valutare l’accuratezza dei censimenti e delle stime correnti dell’ammontare della popolazione in età di 100 anni ed oltre b) descrivere l’evoluzione temporale del numero dei centenari e del relativo rapporto di femminilità c) esplicitare l’importanza delle varie forze in gioco (variazione del numero dei nati, sopravvivenza in varie fasce d’età, emigrazione) nella dinamica temporale del numero dei centenari e del rapporto di femminilità.

On the increase of the number of centenarians in Italy

By the method of extinct generations has been reconstructed the number of centenarians in Italy in the generations of people born from 1850 to 1905 in order to: a) assess the accuracy of the census and current estimates of the population aged one hundred years and over b) describe the temporal evolutions of the number of centenarians and of the femininity ratio among the centenarians c) explain the importance of the various forces involved (variation in the number of births, survival in various age groups, migration) in the temporal dynamics of the number of centenarians and of the femininity ratio.
