Abstract

L’impatto della struttura per età della popolazione sulla dinamica del numero dei nati e dei matrimoni in Italia

È evidenziato l’impatto della struttura per età della popolazione sulla dinamica del numero dei nati e dei matrimoni in Italia nel periodo tra il 1964 e il 2030. Questo impatto è stato consistente. Fino alla metà degli anni Novanta la struttura favorevole ha frenato il calo del numero delle nascite e dei matrimoni conseguente alla diminuzione della fecondità e della nuzialità. Successivamente ha agito come spinta alla riduzione del numero di tali eventi, pur in presenza di una leggera ripresa della fecondità e nonostante un contributo positivo derivante dalla crescita della popolazione straniera. In futuro l’impatto della struttura per età sarà ancora più consistente e sarà determinante nel comportare una ulteriore riduzione del numero dei nati e dei matrimoni che difficilmente potrà essere arrestata.

The impact of the age structure of the population on the dynamics of the number of births and marriages in Italy

We highlight the impact of the age structure of the population on the dynamics of the number of births and marriages in Italy in the period between 1964 and 2030. This impact was substantial. Until the mid-nineties the favorable structure slowed the decline in the number of births and marriages resulting in the decline of fertility and nuptiality. Later he acted to the reduction in the number of such events, even in the presence of a slight recovery of fertility and despite a positive contribution from the growth of the foreign population. In the future, the impact of the age structure will be even more substantial and will determinate a further reduction in the number of births and marriages that is unlikely to be arrested.
